English Language Assistant

British American Institute is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic language assistant to work in a local school with ESO and Bachillerato (secondary school) students, with an immediate start. The language assistant will work 17 hours a week during the standard school day. 

Contract dates: September – end of school year with the school, 12 month contract
Salary: 7,500€ with summer pay and extra payments in December and June - 14 payments total

Responsibilities
1. Provide linguistic aid to the teachers while in class
2. Help teach lessons alongside the teacher or teach them independently with the teacher present
3. Do speaking practice with the whole class or smaller groups
4. Help with school exams

We could also offer the language assistant additional teaching hours during lunchtime in our own extracurricular classes on-site with primary school students, following our course material. These hours would be contracted with BAI and would pay 17€ an hour. 

Requirements
- Standard Spanish work permits and recent certificado de delitos de naturaleza sexual 
- Classroom experience a plus
- Native-level or C1/C2 proficiency in English with a clear accent


Applicants are asked to only apply if they already live in, or have concrete plans to move to, the Barcelona/Maresme area. Applicants must also be willing to commute to Mataró Monday to Friday for the first class of the day between 9-10am.
