ENGLISH CLASSES IN MADRID, ONLINE AND AT HOME
Hi! Mi name is Noemí, and I'm a Philosophy student at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. I have been a tutor for 5 years now. English is one of the subjects I've been teaching until now. I adequate my lessons to the student's level and objectives, but my main aim is to reinforce the speaking and listening skills, which I believe have been a bit forgotten in the traditional teaching of languages... I think that mastering a language is a about being capable of mantaining fluent conversations in a real - life context, and that these conversations should go beyond the topics that appear in English textbooks. It seems like getting to do this necessarily requires of traveling abroad, but I believe that we do have a lot of material that, if correctly used, could serve a student to achieve the purpose of acquiring a native - like accent, understanding different accents, etc. Of what use can grammar be, if then the speaker does not have the confident and the tools to express thoughts and opinions in English?
In orden to seek for these objectives, I structure my classes as "1 to 1", upon the reading of a text (press articles, literary fragments, etc.) or the watching of a video (commonly, British and American comedians' monologues).
