I begin each course by asking the student general questions to gauge their English, and figure out which direction they need to go in, then I tailor lessons as we progress.

For kids, I talk to the parents to find out about their specific needs and begin with getting to know each student, asking questions, playing fun online games and talking. Through this I can learn what the student needs to practice, and then I can tailor all future lessons.

I always make each lesson fun, engaging and effective as I believe that motivating students throughout the long process of learning a language is key. I always let students know that learning a language requires consistency, but the daily effort is worth it when you see the results!

I have a multi-faceted approach when it comes to teaching. It all boils down to what the student wants, whether it´s just conversation, playing online games or practicing grammar, I incorporate all kinds of different techniques to keep things interesting.

I have +10 years teaching experience.
I have also worked as a political and business journalist.
I have a Master's in Political Science. 
I have experience with exam preparation - IELTS FCE, CAE, BEC and experience teaching online - beginner to advanced.

I'm also studying Spanish, I work and study in Madrid, Spain. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Durban, South Africa). Teaching and travel is my passion and I'd love to help you improve your English for any purpose.
