Head of School in Northern Madrid area
ESC is an international school focused on an American Education for an International Community of Pro Athletes. We gather students from all over the world to embrace a unique program which promotes individual excellence and global mindedness and community. 
We wish to recruit a Head of School, who will provide effective, dynamic, and inspirational leadership to our community. They will report to the CEO. They will lead, develop, and continue to improve the school, in line with our school's mission and core values.
The Head of School actively participates in the healthy functioning of the school, including aspects of recruiting and retention. The role also includes external reporting to the Ministry of Education and liaising with membership organizations including the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)

The Head of School will ensure the school's future success by:
· Upholding the school's mission and principles.
· Maintaining and improving the quality of Education offered.
· Through effective management by running the school in an organized and efficient way.
· Ensuring that we involve our students, families and the wider community in our Education and the breadth of educational initiative we offer.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

Essential:
· A recognized teaching qualification
· A proven track record in senior educational leadership and strategic planning
· Experience with NEASC accreditation process
· Awareness of educational developments and what constitutes world-class learning
· Native level of English
· Experience in American schools
· Strong leadership and team-building skills
· Organizational skills
· A problem-solver and innovator
· Pro-active
· Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships
· Honest, transparent, and caring

Desirable:
· Qualification in school leadership
· Master's degree in educational management

Candidates must have excellent leadership and administrative skills, a strong business sense, strong interpersonal and public communication skills, experience with human resources and a deep understanding and commitment to Education. Candidates must be motivated, determined, flexible, and creative. Requirements include a BC teaching certificate (or equivalent) and plus a minimum five years teaching experience. Preferred candidates will have an American teaching license.
