DIRECTOR OF ENGLISH

The International Institute in Spain, a Massachusetts non-profit corporation, is seeking candidates who enjoy the challenge of educational innovation and who have a spirit of entrepreneurship for a full-time position as Director of its American English Program. The successful candidate will have a proven record of working with other teachers to shape a lively educational program. The Director is responsible for the appointment and evaluation of teachers, the curriculum at all levels, the summer camp and the budget.  He/she serves as the public face of the Program and works with the Director of the Institute to expand its student base in promoting our program and unique environment. Candidates should have a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a field related to this work, proven excellence in language teaching, familiarity with digital learning platforms and demonstrated interest in pedagogy and curricular design. Candidates must have a broad background in American culture.  Administrative experience with responsibility for appointments, curricular decisions, and budget preparation is desirable as is some knowledge of customer relations software—although we are happy to provide training in that area.  Candidates should have strong spoken and written Spanish and must enjoy working with the public.
