Who We Are:
We are a fun, open-minded Swiss-New Zealand family offering a unique private education experience for our three children (born 2014, 2016, and 2018). In June 2024, we launched Lumos Kids, a bilingual (English & German) program in Küsnacht, Zurich. Lumos combines hands-on, collaborative learning and 21st-century skill development for 23 children (born 2013–2018). We emphasize creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and social-emotional skills.
The Role
This position has two components:
Lumos Lead Teacher: Plan and lead two 4-hour Project Days and one 3-hour Nature Day weekly for 23 students. Activities include collaborative projects, critical thinking games, and free play, all designed to foster creativity, leadership, and teamwork.
Private Educator: Teach our three children core subjects such as math, reading, writing, and science. Customize lessons to their interests and levels, making learning fun, relevant, and engaging.
You will have the freedom to design the curriculum, work with a supportive co-teacher, and leverage innovative EdTech tools and AI.
The Ideal Candidate:
You’re passionate about teaching, creative, and adaptable. You make learning fun yet challenging, inspire children to reach their potential, and are tech-savvy. You embrace non-traditional approaches, are highly organized, and continuously seek professional growth.
Qualifications:
5+ years teaching experience
Fluency in English and German (or willingness to collaborate with language specialists)
Teaching diploma recognized in Switzerland is a plus but not required
Must be a Swiss/EU citizen or spouse of one
Compensation:
Minimum CHF 120,000+ (or above your current salary)
Relocation assistance, generous vacation (approx. 14 weeks), and every other Friday off (or more for part-time).
